The pros: I鈥檝e tested other portable/waterproof speakers, and I鈥檝e found the Flip to produce the best full sound, and I especially like the bass range. I like the features, it is very easy to pair up, and I like that 2 people can connect at once to the device - my wife and I often differ on music choices at the beach, so it鈥檚 nice that she can just over-ride one of my songs with one from her list if she likes, vs Me having to disconnect and her re-connect. I鈥檇 heard the newer Flip5 does not have this feature, and because if that I just bought another Flip4. But why did I buy another? Unfortunately the issue I鈥檝e had with my previous 2 flips was the same - after a few years, the speakers started crackling and 鈥渃licking鈥?really badly, on every bass beat the thing would sound like a chirping cicada - Zzrrrrt, Zzzzzrt,Zzrrty. The last one also would eventually just power down a few minutes down after the clicking started. I thought that maybe we had dropped the first one and broke someone internally, but after the second speaker had the same issue, I think it is some design malfunction. The last Flip4 only lasted 2yrs, which is pretty bad, given we only use it in the spring and summer, that鈥檚 maybe 10 months of use and usually on weekends only.....so...while I love this speaker, I think it has some durability issues, but at 99$ it packs a punch. I picked the last one up for less given the Flip5s are out ...so let鈥檚 see how long it holds up...if it craps out in 2 years maybe I鈥檒l give another brand a shot, but given I鈥檝e stuck with this one, it does say a lot about the sound quality! LessJstew215 路 Review provided by JBLAll Reviews
